Dr. Heba Abolaban memorized the entire Quran and studied ilm Al-Tajweed at the age of 12 while living in Syria, and recently became certified in teaching Qaeda Nooraniyyah. She holds two ijazaat in Qira'at Al-Quran, in Hafs and Shu'bah. Currently, she is in the process of acquiring her ijaza in qira'at Warsh as well as Mukhtasar Sahih Al-Bukhari.
Professionally, Dr. Abolaban is a physician who obtained her medical degree from Damascus Medical School, Syria. She then went on to obtain her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Northeastern University in Boston. She worked for several years at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a Women's Health Consultant. She has been working as an independent Muslim health consultant and educator for 10 years. She has had the honor to educate hundreds of healthcare professionals on cultural competency training and how to care for our Muslim patients and clients. Alhamdulellah, she also developed the female puberty in Islam 2-day course and has been teaching it for years to Muslim girls (aged 9-14) in North America and around the world. Dr. Abolaban also worked as an academic researcher at the Muslims Mental Health & Islamic Psychology Lab at Stanford University in California from 2019 to 2021. She currently lives in Boston and offers a variety of online courses related to Islam and health in different topics, and she enjoys being a mother of three beautiful children, alhumdulillah.
